Watch the words we say

July 24th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

The bible does not teach  on positive confession, but certainly warns us about the words we speak. A negative confession can certainly not help us in any way, in fact it can only destroy our faith. A problem needs to be seen as it is, but the solution can be found by faith in the Word of God. We should be careful of the words we speak and as we believe in the Word of God, we should rather say what the Word says. Paul said: I believed and then I spoke.  2 Corinthians 4:13(b).

Keep believing

July 23rd, 2010 by Miki Hardy

We are called to live by faith and not by sight. So many times we can be deceived by the things that we see, we feel and hear. We should not be moved by these things but instead to continue believing in what God said in His word. Our lives are in His hand and we have the assurance that He will keep us and bless us according to His will. Can we believe in God’s word? We certainly can and we shall live by faith. We should never get discouraged but should keep believing.

The shield of faith.

Faith is one of the greatest weapon of a christian to allow him to stand in the evil day. Faith in the word of God, faith in what God said. The word of God is to be fully trusted because God is not a liar and He will do what He said He will do. Faith in God’s word will allow us to face all the attacks of the enemy and see the victory of the Lord. King Jehosaphat had only to believe what God told him He will do. When he did that,He saw the miracle of God, who destroyed the enemies of Israel. Believe and do not doubt.

Let faith arise.

As we continue to pray for faith in our hearts, we should seriously consider the traps and attacks of the enemy against all those that are serving the Lord. Satan will try to attack in many ways but we must remember that the word of God says that the devil cannot touch us as we are born of God and we do not practice sin. 1 John 5:18. It is our responsibility to rise up in the spirit and resist all the attacks of the enemy against us. May it be against our body, soul or spirit. In the name of Jesus, we have the victory. Alleluiah.

Stay focussed and believe.

The most important thing to do when we are in the middle of a difficult situation, is to keep our eyes on Jesus as we know that He is in control and He holds our lives in His hands. Sometimes, the greater you persevere the hardest it gets, but the Lord is still in control during these times. The Lord will not allow the trial to be greater than what we can handle and He will give us the grace to stand and wait for the victory. Apostle James calls it the trial of our faith. James 1:2-3. This is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. 1 John 5:4(b).

We are God’s people.

July 16th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

Jesus gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:14. It is obvious that we, christians, should be very different from other people, because God is busy purifying us for Him. We should not only be known to be a christian but our lives should demonstrate it. People should feel that we are different by our conduct, our speech and our faith. We are the testimony of a God that transforms the life of anyone who turns to Him and accepts Him as Lord and Savior. Paul said to Timothy, his son in the gospel: “You have carefully followed my manner of life, purpose, faith ……”. 2 Timothy 3:10.

We are all watchmen.

July 12th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

Watch, said the Lord to his disciples. Mark 13:37. It is not the time to close our eyes and ignore this call of Jesus to all of us in these last days. Sin is at the door and everything is set and prepared for us to sin. Wherever we go in this world, we can feel the pressure that is imposed on us, Christians, to surrender to temptations. The moment we sleep, there is a great danger to fall under that pressure. We will all have to be our own watchman… and we will not be able to count on others to be our watchman. Our relationship with Christ is vital at this time.

The world is evil.

July 10th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

It is shocking to see how the world is functioning in these last days. Christians should be very careful of the deceitful ways the devil is using through the world system. We can very easily be influenced and tempted to compromise. The world system is deteriorating so fast but christians can discern what are the things that are destructive to parents and children. The danger is to come to a compromise where we do not see the danger in many things that do not appear so destructive, but who really are destructive to us and our children.

It is the time to draw a line and accept NO compromise. We need to be strict and severe in our decisions to cut away with the world system and influence. Our first responsibility is to preserve our children and be primarily concerned about their spiritual lives. They should be aware of these dangers and understand that these actions are for their protection. They should feel the heart of the Lord from their parents in these decisions, so that they can fully accept and co-operate with their parents. Be convinced that the world is not going to become better, but can only become worse.

Pride deprives us of God’s blessings.

July 9th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

One of the most known scripture about pride is in Proverbs 16:18. Pride goes before destruction. Pride is the greatest obstacle in our lives to prevent us from repenting and forgiving. Instead of repenting, pride will cause us to justify ourselves, and we can see that in many situations of life, like for example in the relationship between husband and wife. It is so hard to humble ourselves and repent, but it is the only way to be free and it restores the peace and the joy of the Lord in our hearts.

Pride is also the root of our difficulty to forgive. How can someone hurt us or act in a wrong way towards us? Forgiveness is possible when we humble ourselves and realize that Jesus has also forgiven us of all our sins. True forgiveness brings a great release to the one who receives it and true freedom to the one who forgives.  Repentance and forgiveness will open the door to God’s richest blessings. In no way should we allow pride to rule our lives. Let us take up our cross and follow Jesus.

The gift of faith.

July 8th, 2010 by Miki Hardy

The gift of faith is this special faith that God gives us for a specific need to be met for the glory of God. In times of revival, the gift of faith is given to Christians to manifest the love and mercy of God towards men. Christians who are humble and broken before the Lord will receive that gift of faith, to accomplish the will of God. The gift of faith was manifested in Peter’s life when he prayed for the man at the gate of the temple, who was instantly healed. We see this gift in action so often in the book of Acts and it will be the same in the coming time of revival. Let us pray for faith.
